W.D.I.R.'s
are performed by a Licensed
Pest Control Operator. These professionals inspect all accessible areas of
your home including interior, garage, storage rooms, attic, crawl space and any
other buildings attached to the main structure. We check thoroughly for
evidence of termites, powder post beetles, old house borers, carpenter ants,
carpenter bees and any other, wood destroying insect common to your area.
In addition we check for conditions that might be conducive to termites or other
wood destroying insects, such as excessive moisture, wood debris in the crawl
space, wood stored under the structure or deck, poor foundation ventilation and
any earth-wood contact between the structure and the ground.

Our home inspectors will check your home from top to bottom including your
electrical, plumbing, serviceability of most appliances, heating and air
conditioning and your crawl space. A thorough home inspection is a lengthy
process as over 400 items are checked!

Well & Septic
Testing is also
provided by Termitech. Wells are checked by sampling for
Chloroform Bacteria which is sent to a lab for testing. Results are
usually available in a few days. Septic tanks are treated with a special
dye and then water is allowed to run for about an hour. This will
determine if your tank is functioning properly, or if it needs to be serviced
before the sale or purchase of a property.
Carbon
Monoxide Testing
can be very important.
This odorless, colorless gas occurs due to faulty furnace or fireplace function.
It can also occur if you use a gas water heater or gas dryer. Carbon
Monoxide can be a dangerous problem if not detected!
Radon
is not a problem in our area
since it only occurs in minute amounts. However, if you are asked to test
for Radon gas, Termitech is qualified to handle that. It is a longer test,
requiring charcoal samplers in the home for 3 days and an additional 5 days or
so at the lab. High exposure to this gas has been known to cause lung
cancer.
